Unit 1: Exploring Craft Ideas
AO 1.1 Michael's folder of work contains examples of research into art work including his mood board, powerpoint and review of artists work presented to him in the visiting lecture by a filmmaker and an animator as shown in video below:

Unit 2: Explore materials and tools to support craft ideas
AO 1.1 Below is evidence of Michael working with different crafts using a range of materials and equipment / tools.
His folder contains worksheets and tutor feedback and self-assessment displaying further evidence.
Painting with light: Slow Shutter Speed photography
Equipment: Canon DSLR, tripod, shutter speed between 5 - 15 seconds
Materials: Glow sticks, torches, mobile phones
Letters edited using Photoshop to create a poster (final piece in folder)

Clay modelling:
Designing and making clay pots using coil technique and painting them.
Materials: Clay, paints, brushes, matchsticks, water
Michael took the photos of Martin before having his own portrait photo taken.
Equipment: Tripod and Canon DSLR
Using photoshop filters and colour adjustments (with Martin)
Stop Frame Animation:
Test idea:
Example of photos taken using Canon DSLR and materials such as cards, bottles, costumes.

Equipment: Final Cut Pro to edit the photos and speed up the footage.

Photoshop Editing:
For part of the video portrait Michael has combined his interest in computer games and photography by taking and using portrait photos of his classmates and with help from Jade he has made photo-montages of his classmates as computer villains. His file contains earlier examples of Photoshop skills / tasks.

Presenting the idea:
Michael presents his idea for his video portrait by answering a series of questions.

Michael's video portrait focuses very much on his interest in photography and photo manipulation as the film features photo montages of his classmates turned into computer game villains using Photoshop and also includes his own music and music of artists he likes and examples of video games he plays to tell the viewer more about him as a person.
The video will be screened as part of the end of year Art & Media exhibition.
